Hi,
I am New to SAP world, I appreciate if someone could explain:
at the time when you create Dimentions, how do you decide which characteristics go under which dimention?
Thanks: Vani

Check out these links..for details..
The basic idea while deciding which characteristics go to which dimension is that the size of the dimension table ideally should not exceed 10-20 % of the fact table..
Hope it helps..
Let me know if you need further clarifications..
Ashish..

Try a search on SAP Business Intelligence forums on Data Modeling, you'll get lots of hits.
SAP Press also has a brand new book out - SAP BW Data Modeling
Haven't read it, but I imagine it does a good job on the dimension issue.

I would try a search on SDN as well. Seems to me there is a How To on Data Modeling floating around somewhere out there.
Also Google Ralph Kimball and Data Modeling.
