Solman_setup SPS10

Helllo everyone,

I'm going through Solman_setup "Basis Configuration"Setp 5 "Configure Automatically". In step "Activate BW content for 
RCA" my jobs got cancelled with error: BI_NOT_READY(Abap cause=/<SID>CLNT100/LS//RSSEND////nullnullnull)

I entered transaction RSA1 and a pop up appeared with the following options: "replicate metadata", "activate only" or "cancel" and I pressed "Cancel"

According to this post I should have pressed "activate only" (I found this post later):

Now everytime I entered transactoin code RSA1 I'm not gettin the pop up. Is this a problem? then, I run again the "Activate BW content for 
RCA" and the job start running (CCMS_BI_SETUP) - not failling anymore.

The SAP information also says the following:

"Make sure the BW activation was finished succesfully before activating any content. this can be done

using transaction RSTCO_ADMIN in the BW client"

In which activity was this step performed or should have been performed?, When I entered RSTCO_ADMIN I got a yellow status.

So now I got the following:

RSTCO_ADMIN (yellow status) -> RSA1 (cancel option)- > CCMS_BI_SETUP (running)

Any advices?

Hi,

If you have the following problem trying to activate BI:

Please, proceed as follow:

1806396  - Error "The job ccms_bi_setup is not yet executed

Please choose one or more source systems

Diagnosis

If an object has properties that are specific to a source system, then only those dependent objects that are associated with the source system are considered when it comes to collecting. For example, only those transfer rules, for which the respective source system was selected, are collected for an InfoSource.

However, you have not yet selected a source system.

Procedure

Please select one or more source systems that need to taken into account when collecting. This setting is saved and is valid up until you change it again. You can change the selection via the pushbutton 'Source system assignment'.

Status Green: The installation of objects from the technical content was executed by

calling the Development Workbench and was ended successfully.

Status Yellow: BI objects from technical content were delivered in a newer version. The

installation of these objects has not occurred yet or is currently running

in the background. Check whether a background job is currently running for

installing the objects (SM 37 job name 'BI_TCO_ACTIVATION').

If the installation has not yet been scheduled, start the installation

using transaction RSTCO_ADMIN.

Status Red: Errors occurred during installation of the technical content.  Restart the

installation using transaction RSTCO_ADMIN. Output the activation log to

determine the cause of the errors and to eliminate them.

Please, check the log in SM37 with job CCMS_BI_SETUP and when it finish re-execute the task:

Basis Configuration -> "Step 5 "Configure Automatically" -> "Activate BW content for RCA"

And check log for JOB: SMSETUP*  in SM37

Thank you for the feedback Juan. the only difference is that I chose "as 3.x Datasource" option like this KBA says:

1938614 - BI_TCO_ACTIVATION not found ...=> Basic Configuration > Automatic Configuration> Activate ...

Hello Luis, thanks for your feedback.

Now I get the following:

The first time you enter RSA1 the job BI_TCO_ACTIVATION runs for the first time, which is like going to tcode RSTCO_ADMIN and run it manually.

However, when I checked SM37 I see BI_TCO_ACTIVATION running for only 1 second (status ok) but I guess it's doing nothing. Does anyone know why? My BW is on the same prod client of Solman (SPS10).

Can I run BI_TCO_ACTIVATION again after CCMS_BI_SETUP have finished? or it will make things worse?

you should be able to activate and replicate metadata manually as mentioned in the link below Documentation.

1. Log on to the configured BI client / system.
2. Call transaction RSA1.
3. Select the source system, right click and select "activate".
4. In the next dialog "Replicate Metadata?", select 'Replicate as Well'.
5. Choose "as 3.x Datasource" when asked, then confirm.
