MC.9 / material consumption ISSUE

Former Member

Hi everybody!

This is the first time I'm writing in this forum, so please be kind to me if I violate some of the forum's rules.

I have a problem with the extraction of the material average monthly consumption.

The problem, i believe, is the concept of "average consumption".

After running mc.9, I select the field "average usage", then, if I press F1 the definition given is

"The average consumption is calculated as follows : Total consumption quantity / Number of total consumptions"

on the contrary, my concept of average usage is:

ex. code DTR123 --> on january: 10 pieces withdrawn/ on february : 20 pieces withdrawn / on march: 30 pieces withdrawn

average monthly consumption: (10+20+30)/ 3 = 20 pieces

can anyone tell me if there is a fitting transaction for my "concept of average consumption", please?

Thank you very much

Arianna

hi Arianna

The issue can be resolved in the same screen.

If you scroll down, you find the field total consumption. Using this you can calculate the average consumption by dividing total by number of months.

I am in same screen pop up where you got the average consumption

Hi Vivek,

thank you for your reply.

So, if I understood well, i should export in excel the result of the total consuption and manually divide it with the number of months, right?

Another question: what does sap mean as consumption? withdrawn on production and service orders and direct selling?

Thank you

Hi Arianna,

Yes, you should do this remaining task in excel, which i think is fine.

For the other question, consumption always defines any stock taken out from the standard inventory. Yes, it includeds production, service orders or direct selling, or may be as simple as a GI with reference to a cost-center. However, if there are any exclusions, I may have missed out them.
