IDOC reprocessing not successful

An IDOC is in status 3 "IDoc sent to SAP system or external program " . when we try to reprocess it , error msg comes as " The operation can not be carried out with this node type". Kindly suggest the reason and a way to reprocess it .

    You cannot 'reprocess' an Outbound IDoc.(BD87 is for reprocessing inbound IDOc's with errors). You can 'Repost' it.

    What you can probably do is to check whether that Particular IDoc is struck in Transaction RFC (SM58) or not.

    If it is struck, select the IDoc and perform 'Execute LUW' in menu options. There by you are trying to send IDOc to subsequent system.

    If not struck, there is no issue in SAP, Subsequent system have to check and confirm the status of IDoc.

    Alternatively, If you want to retry posting the same IDoc, do so using transaction WE19 --> Std. Outbound processing (Application tool bar option). But make note that this will create a new IDoc no. with same content.

    u can not reprocess the IDOC which is having status code 3 . u can repost it.
