Future Action exists, check status fields

I am an ABAP person so I apologise in advance for my lack of functional know-how and my subsequent simple question. I did google this issue and found some advice but not particular enough to my scenario.

I have an Inactive employee. They have the following (4 most recent) actions:

23.06.2013 to 23.06.2013 Action: Paid Absence (Maternity Leave)
24.06.2013 to 19.12.2015 Action: Transfer (Long Term Absent)
20.12.2015: Action: Change contract (Apprenticeship to Permanent)
20.12.2015 to 31.12.9999 Action: Transfer (Long Term Absent)

I now want to perform an Action: Return From Leave of Absence. This should be from 05.03.2014.
When I try to reactivate this employee from 05.03.2014, I get error message "Future Action exists, check status fields".

Any answers and advice greatly appreciated. When explained in easy terms that even an Abapper can understand then I will be even more happy. 😊

Thank you.

entering actions in the future is not my favorite 😊

when I check it here on DEV, I get message "previous action extended... etc". But this doesn't mean the additional action is prolonged. It's the action in infotype 0000.

Something to verify as well : check the splits in the infotypes belonging to the action Leave of absence. These should also be "removed" cleaned up.

You should add the new action from 05.03.2013 up and untill 22.06.2013. You can change the enddate of infotype 0000. So future actions will not be afjusted and stay as they are.

    Yes. System is behaving correctly...

there is a Transfer Action till 19.12.2015

Change this date to 05.02.2014 in infotype 0000.

Run Change Contract Action for date 05.03.2014 and then again run Transfer action.

Since Employee is on long-term leave since Dec'2015, you cannot make that employee as permanent.

Experts, Please correct me if am wrong
