Report - EPM Member selector - using filter

Former Member

Hi ALL,

I would like to ask a general question : everytime I try to use <CONTEXT> value (within the "Member Selector" in the "Report Editor"), the selection doesn't work, my filter doesn't work ! Why ?

And then I obtain this error message :

How does it work ? What's wrong with my selection ? Is there some prerequisites to use it ?

Can someone help me on this, it's hard to find information regarding how to make reports !

Thanks a lot !!!

Karine

Karine, hi!

Did you solve your problem?

Same problem too with EPM Add-in 10.0 SP 25 and no resolution though. Trying to follow Note 1959652:EPM Add-in : Filtering based on context returns empty result and change disply to ID with no luck.

Solve business needs by using EPMDimensionOverride, but still wondering about <CONTEXT> usage and why it don't work ).

Any suggestion?

I was able to make it work following instructions provided in the note 1959652.

The dimension to be linked to should be displayed as ID and the attribute for the join should also contain the ID of the where to member.

Hi Karine,

I can't actually replicate your problem since I don't get <context> to appear in my filter, but maybe EPMDimensionOverride would solve your problem? In my example, I have Interco on rows, and as the Entity context member is FR, my Interco member becomes I_FR.

Hi Roberto,

Thank you for your answer ! But this note doesn't solve the problem !

Would you mind trying this and tell me your results :

Make a simple report :TIME in column, ENTITY in page and COSTCENTER in row.
Then click on COSTCENTER, it opened the "EPM - Member Selector"

The dimension COSTCENTER has a property called ENTITY, so I select "ENTITY", operator is "=", Values is "<CONTEXT>" and the High Values/Dimensions is "ENTITY"

And after this selction I have nothing !

(I insist on that point to be clear : There are 2 different ENTITY, the first is the property of the dimension COSTCENTER and the second is a dimension)

Hi Karine,

You might try changing the name of the ENTITY property so that it does not match a dimension member and so that it doesn't match a dimension type.  It's possible that the column name is causing a problem with the EPM Add-in.

Thanks,
