SMP 3.0 and SAP work Manager

Former Member

Hi All,

we are currently using the SMP 3.0 ramp up version. We would like to implement SAP work manager and below are my questions regarding that,

1) Do we need to install SAP work manager seperately for SMP 3.0 or does that get installed along with SMP 3.0?

2) What are the pre-requistes for SAP work manager with SMP 3.0.

Please let me know if there is any documentation regarding the above mentioned questions.

Thanks,

Shiv

Shiv,

SMP3.0 is the mobile platform only. It does not include any of the applications.   Those will need to be deployed to the platform accordingly.

The product team is working on SAP Work Manager 6.1 which will be supported on SMP 3.0 and released sometime after SMP 3.0 general availability.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the reply. Could you please tell me which version of SAP work manager is compatable with SMP 3.0? Or do we need to wait until the SAP work manager 6.1 gets relesed. I mean what are the alternatives for now, until the 6.1 version is relesed.

All work managers can be upgrades to it, but there are other steps that are needed to be done to get it deployed.  6.1 if the the first version that setup to be deployed right to SMP 3.0

Hi Steve,

Can you please give highlights on below queries:

SAP Work manager 6.1/6.2 will be compatable with SMP2.3? or there is a pre-requisite to have SMP 3.0 in place?

Also, SAP WM 6.0 is supported with SMP 3.0 right?

WM 6.1 will is built and released on SMP 3 and will not be tested on SMP 2.3.

Yes WM 6.0 will be supported.

Hi Shiv,

you can take a look at my posting when I was installing the WM6.0 on SMP3.0. This post should help how to do the installation.

wow... I have short term memory this week.... Ya see Michel post we got it up and running on that server.  Note one of the changes we did on that server where "linux" only, but would effect both windows and linux installs.

As the thread question has been already answered please open a new thread.

But before you do please look at the WM 6.1 Install Guides as it talks about how to deploy the application to the server.

How about the other apps? Has anyone successfully tried to deploy SAP Inventory Manager and Rounds Manager on SMP 3.0? Do you know if their new SMP 3.0 versions are due for release at the same time as WM6.1?

Inventory Manager 4.0 is also due out around the same time as WM 6.1 and will also be based on SMP 3.0.

Rounds 3.0 is currently targeted for a Q4 2014 update (as always dates are subject to change).

While I haven't tried it yet, deploying the other applications on to SMP 3.0 should involve a similar process to moveing WM 6.0 to SMP 3.
