Error in replicating the SAP BI 4.x Environment

Former Member

Hi All,

I am following the below blog to replicate content of prod in Sandbox.

However while Creating a new SIA node   i am encountering errors as  the new SIA node getting added with out any default servers.

I was able to achieve the above in a different environment where there were no clusters. But in the current scenario i have my prod which has a  cluster environment with windows AD auth where as  sandbox is installed in a single system with enterprise Auth.I have attached the error logs which i got while adding the new node with default servers in CCM.

ENV:

SAP BI 4.0 sp5

Sql server 2008 R2

Windows

Thanks in advance for all your help and guidance

Regards

Kishore.

Hello,

I found this error in the log files : "The port number you are using is probably already in use..Port is in use: 6400".

Please try to use new ports ; example : 7400 for the CMS and 7410 for the SIA when creating a new node.

Asma

Easiest way for Replicating systems and less confusing:

Use the UMT with the switch -internal_use_only_noversioncheck to move objects from SAP BI 4.x to SAP BI 4.x

Hi Satish,

I am not trying to only replicate the environment but also testing the recovery if in case there is a content deletion.Hence i am trying this approach of restoring the FRS and CMS DB.

To give you more details,I am facing issues while adding a new node to the cluster.as the node is getting added buti can not see any servers.Interestingly when i log on to the CMC Manage server i can not even see the CMS server though it is allowing me to log in.

You said you are adding a new node, I am assuming that you have one node working and trying to add a new one?

1. As pointed by Asma, please give new ports for SIA and CMS while creating new nodes.

In case you just want to recreate the existing one, use same ports and same SIA name, you may stop the existing SIA and use "Start a Temporary New CMS" and select "recreate node" while creating.

Hi Asma/Satish,

I have added a new node with cms and SIA port 7400 and 7410.But same issue occured.

While trying to add a node to  use "Start a Temporary New CMS" and select "recreate node" the error says port 6400 already in Use.

This is how the Manage server looks after i added a node with node with cms and SIA port as  7400 and 7410

from the log files what i understood is that it is not able to add the default services and writes the below error

OutOfBoxAdaptiveProcessingServer.

FAILED: could not find server with cuid AfRmWmX2jhJOnbtEuIXTmF4. Query returned 0 infoobject(s)

and

utOfBoxCentralManagementServer.

FAILED: could not find server with cuid AS3zRDnsuv9KonM9nLcyROg. Query returned 0 infoobject(s).

Perform the below steps first:

  1. Stop the SIA. (check task manager for cms.exe, let it stop)
  2. Click on Add Node.
  3. Enter the same Node Name and SIA Port as the existing SIA. (use 6410 one first)
  4. Select Recreate Node and click Next.
  5. Select Start a new temporary CMS and click Next.
  6. Enter same port under New CMS Port as the existing CMS. (6400 one)
  7. Specify the CMS System Database Data Source Name.
  8. Enter the Cluster Key when requested and click Next.
  9. Provide CMS Logon parameters and click Next.
  10. Click Finish to start recreating the SIA.

Once it is done loon to CCM manage servers and check if you are able to see servers.

Hi Kishore,

I went through the logs. There are many errors related to CUID with "OutOfBoxOutput".

Is this the new node you are trying to add or is it a old node?

Looks like there have been multiple attempts to add Node on the backup.

I would suggest getting a new backup from your DBA and start fresh.

Please refer note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1275068 for further steps.

Thanks

Hi

It is a new node  i am trying to add.I am thinking may be the cuids are because i am not able to delete all the reference/

Till now i have delete all the references in cms db table cms_infoobvjects7 where TypeID in (16,17) and parentId in (16,59).

Do i need to delete anything else from cms db.

Hi Bhajankishore,

Do not use typeid queries for deleting objects. Refer to the KB in my previous note, it has the correct queries with parentid.

I would suggest using a new backup as using typeid will delete some extra objects which are needed.

Thanks.will do.

One more query,Do you think i need any other setting as the prod and sandbox use different auth and prod is a clustered one where as sandbox is a single system installation.

In logs i found few  prod reference like this

.\deploymentFile.cpp:363:-: TraceLog message 1

|65880e22-5df8-9934-3a6f-bf7c63c9bfaf|2014 03 11 08:51:19:951|+0100|Error| |>>| | |cms_Recovery.cms| 7628|4464|| ||||||||||||||||||||||assert failure: (.\deploymentFile.cpp:363). Thanks for the suggestions.
