Real Time processing with XI

Former Member

Hello all,

I'm just getting started with XI so there are some unkowns I hope to get answers for. My first scenario is to transfer Sales Orders from a custom POS system into R3.

My question is, which adapters are better suited for Real Time processing?

Regards,

Jose

Anand,

This was helpfull on the XI > R3 end, but what are people using for real-time processing when the scenario is XI > 3rd Party? In our case the 3rd party system is a Java based Point of Sales (POS) system.

Thanks in advance,

Jose

My apologies, I ment XI < 3rd Party. The messages (in XML format) will flow into XI from our Java based POS system.

Jose,

1. You can try using a HTTP Adapter. So, your POS systems will have to make HTTP call to XI system and wait for the response.

2. Or as the POS system is Java based system, you can go for Java Proxies.

I recommed the second option as it will bypass the adapter engine and will directly talk to the integration engine.

Ravi

Hi Jose

Try using Java proxies. There are two good documents by Mr.Sudhir Porumamilla

Java Proxies and SAP XI - The Inside Story, Part 1

Java Proxies and SAP XI - The Inside Story, Part 2

You can search for them on SDN. Or you can mail me, my email address is available on my business card and i can send it to you.

Thanks
