CLM - Time limit for holding processed messages

Hi all

I was wondering if someone would be able to inform me where you can change the time limit for holding processed messages.

At the moment we have it set at 7 days, and anything after 7 days is remove from the processed messages report.

Due to the way the business is using the discussion messages we would like to hold this information for longer than 7days.

Anyone help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bobbi

Hi Bobbi,

There is a system property "messaging.savesentmsgsdays" where the retention value you can be changed.  We typically don't recommend holding on to the messages for an extended time.  I know we just worked with one of our customers to change the value to 30 days to meet their particualr need.  Can you provide some insight as to why you need to hold on to this for longer than 7 days?  It would be good to have that understanding.

Thanks so much,

Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,

thanks for this answer.

I am trying to progress this issue while Bobbi is on leave.

I made the change as you suggested a few days ago, and set the system property to a value of 30, but it doesn't appear to have made any difference - the processed messages still only go back for 7 days.

Do you have any idea as to why this would be or any other suggestions?

Regards...John

HI Bobbi,

for setting the system property for messaging

please follow the below steps

1) goto > setup> system property

2) create new

3) SET = messaging

4) Name = messaging.savesentmsgsdays

5)Value = 30

6) give the context ID

Also please try to maintain this at the enterprise level. also check if it is maintained at system level too. (this will be done by the BASIS team)

you can also have a scheduale task created for this one, below are the steps to create the schedule task.

1) create a Report goto setup > report> new

2) here you want the report for Processed msg do accordingly give the details.

3) display name will be the existing localized resource for processed msg.

4) category will be "system report"

5) add query Definition > search for processed.

6) select all processed msg

again select the query definition for Queued  and follow the process.

once done

7) save it

8)Setup > Scheduled Tasks > New > Select Report Execution Task > Continue

9) select the display name

10) run as user ( you can give your name)

11) select the frequescy = if you need select daily ( so will get an updated report for all the processed msg)

12) start date ( select a time when there is less user activity)

13) days keep it as every day or weekly as you wish.

14) Click on Advanced Configuration > give the display name what you want it to be

15) report ( Report: Select the report you have just created (search for processed))

16) Query server event action : select Excel ( so you will get the result in Excel sheet)

Save the configuration.

Thanks
