What is the function of SAP Gateway on Fiori Analytical Apps

Consider a scenario where I am using HANA side-car (side-by-side) and I want to install Fiori Analytical Apps.

Also, I already have a SAP Netweaver Gateway landscape.

What would be the function of the SAP Netweaver Gateway in this scenario?

Is it one of the following?

1) Deliver the all HTML5 content (css, js, html, images) and data services connect directly to HANA.

2) Deliver the all HTML5 content and act as a hub for data services from HANA.

3) Provide central UI component with the SAP UI5 control library and the SAP Fiori launchpad, app specific HTML5 content and data services come directly from HANA to the browser.

4) Nothing but URLs on launchpad that redirect the users to HANA and all HTML5 content and data services are provided by HANA.

Just by reading documentation (SAP Fiori App Types and Database Requirements - SAP Fiori for SAP Business Suite - SAP Library) I could not extract this information.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Felipe,

If you talk about only Analytic apps, Gateway usage is only for launchpad.

    1. Browser calls Fiori Launchpad

    2. Launchpad reads catalog/tile information via OData ,- Gateway usage

    3. When Analytic apps call OData, Web dispatcher redirects it to HANA XS engine.

    4. Data will be returned to Analytic apps
