Hello
Maybe not the best section ..
But we have in mind changing existing Oracle licences on all existing systems (ECC;CRM;PI,BI) with HANNA(and use HANNA DB)..
I wander what would be pro and what cons?
Thank you a lot
Jan

Most of the companies perform a migration due to two reasons (as far as I know)
- Cost
- Performance
If you are switching from Oracle to HANA then the DB license might be cheaper than Oracle as it is an SAP product but you will end up paying a lot for the hardware.
When it comes to performance you will achieve a better performance (not drastically). But the question is do you want that level of performance or not ?
Like Yves mentioned you probably need to push up the SAP Netweaver release of the existing systems to be compatible with the HANA database.
Lastly you will end up paying migration fees and the wage for a certified migration consultant to perform this activity.

Hi
Cost, maybe ?
Changing to Hana should also means changing DB server hardware (and potentially with a lot more of memory)
I'm not sure this will lead to major performance improvement for ERP, PI, CRM systems.
This should also mean changing the SAP version as all versions are not natively Hana compatible (basis 7.40 is supposed to be required)

Hi Jan,
If I understand correctly you are going to perform database migration activity in your present landscape. Firstly you have to contact SAP as well as one of the third party hardware vendor (who is going to provide certified HANA hardware). SAP will provide you all the license details.
For whole your migration activity below link will be helpful:-
