Identifying Performance of inheritance/relationship for EH&S module

Hi Team

We are using EH&S module and currently, when our users create a specification and perform inheritance, it takes about 7 to 10 minutes to complete the change to refresh. Is there any method or logs we can idendify in the server sites/module on this time tracking. If there is, could you provide or guide way to check.

If there are other ways to check this, please let me know. Thank you.

Think using inheritance is recommended by SAP. Previously it had some poor performance for inheritance and thus reference was used, but for now inheritance shall be the one to choose.

Overall, you may also refer to 1870650,  there are more information for the running of EHS optimally.

Hi John

I was looking through the Snotes provided, but couldn't find any that can help to capture on the performance of the inheritance in PLM (i.e Transaction code or Report in ECC). Most of the notes are on installation and optimizing. We are using the  component version SAP ECC 6.0.

If there is away via BASIS or any T-code to help ease the process would be great.

Do let me know if you need any information on this.Thank you.

Hello Kannan,

Ok, so that document is just an overall one for EHS module. But it still does not make sense to run inheritance with 10 mins for one single substance. Will it be pending by the action of approval, the button to start inheritance? You may need to restart it to see if problem exists still.

And you will have to work with basis team, and use ST05 or other their transations to monitor the SQL statement and see where the problem is. Good luck.

hello Kannan

there are a lot of OSS available regarding topic of performance in CG02. You should check if you need to install further OSS. On the top with EnhPAck 3 Inheritance was improved. Therefore please check this option. May be performance will go up.

What is the relation between the specification whcih gets data and that which passes on data? Is this 1 1:1000 ? Inheritance is not recommended by SAP (nbot to my knowlegde); it is a useful option and to a certsain extend better than to use "reference".. But there are a lot of "cons", The "cruciasl" topic is the inheritance template (as an example):

So please check EnhPack 3 options and check OSS. I found not "direct" related performance OSS inmprovement to inheritanace but many others exists as well discussing performance.
