With reference to this issue , to close the asset year 2015 , we need to post the depreciation correctly for that year , But for the 2 assets the depreciation is not posted correctly in year 2015.

Problem : While closing the Asset year for 2015, it is throwing error like Depreciation not posted completely .

Analysis : First created fixed assets but after that client came to know that they didnt have to create the fixed assets with actuals reporting. Actuals reporting said that post these materials into the prepaid expense group not fixed assets. After that client changed these assets 01 book depreciation usefull lives in year 2016(on 28.01.2016) From 10 (years) to 0 (years) and change the periods from 000 to 001 in the asset master.. They forgot to re-run deprecaition

After changing useful life , business has not run the repeat deprecation posting in year 2015 , So the deprecation is not posted correctly in 2015. Fiscal Years for 2015 and 2016 are now closed and financial reports were already sent for this periods. Only 2017 period is open right now. Client want to make correction without changing the previous years.

Can anyone suggest the solution for same. Its a high prioirty issue as Year end activity is held up

Hi,

When did make changes for the useful life of the asset? If you done it in current year, then reset the changes back i.e. change the useful life as 10 years. Later close the years 2015 & 2016. After that again do changes for the useful life as 10 to 0, then re rerun the depreciation in repeat mode for the last period/current period for current year. Then the differential entry got posted in FI.

Hi Gauri,

can you make a unplanned depr. run in period 2015 in period 12 or later?

Do you see in AW01N that there is a additional depr. calculated?

best regards
