Backup for Disaster Recovery - SAP on Oracle

Hi,

Because I didn't find anything that's really helpful, I hope this question is in the right place (I don't like the "new" forum).

For our PRD systems we're using simple Oracle standby systems with BRTools, that works like a charm! But now I wanna do one step more and want a whole disaster recovery, an enhanced automated disaster recovery (EADR).

EADR = backup the whole server, create an ISO with mini DR OS, boot hardware from DR OS, OS starts automatically the restore session

My questions:

- does someone uses that scenario already and know what I want and can help?

- for non productive systems I just stop SAP and Oracle by pre-exec scripts, do backup and start both with post-exec scripts

- but what do I need to do for productive systems (24/7)

• set oracle TS in backup mode? (is that enough? (online redo logs/data files))

Every document I've found (SAP, Oracle) just describes the steps after a disaster is happened, maybe you have some helpful for me?

Thanks for any help!

Best regards,

Tobas
