SAP GUI and System Configuration

Hello All

Can anyone please help me figure out how to connect to an SAP ERP system from my laptop's SAP GUI? The SAP system is installed on a separate host. In other words, how can I make the SAP system available via a network? I'd appreciate any response. Thanks.
