Hi Experts,

I need clarification on what will need to be done if the UoM do not match for dicontinued material.

I know  maintaining conversion factor for the material in material master - basic data - additional data will apply, but how? , suppose I have a material going to be out (Discontinue) on certain date is in Roll and the material taking over (follow-up) it's place on that particular date is in M,what needs to be done to make it working in case of UOM do not match on both materials.

Please explain as it is like a job aid.

Humble Regards,

Ibrahim

Hi Ibrahim,

Some points for your understanding.

  1. Though UOM is different you can replace the discontinue material with new material in BOM using CS20.
  2. If base UOM is different you cannot make any material to material stock transfer

Can you exactly brief where you are using?

Thanks & Regards,

Ramagiri

Hi Ramigiri,

As I mentioned I just need to know how in material master conversion factors are maintained and who is responsible for that PP or MM?

Kind Regards,

Ibrahim

Hi Ramagiri,

Probably I failed to describe what I needed, let me try one more time.

I have a material which has different UOM then material I am going to replace.

I tested and made both materials UOM same, I had the same UoM for the follow up and it worked properly all the way through. Now it is decided that UOM should be same for the funcionality 'discontinued material' on MRP4 view.

My question is what needs to be done if UOM is not same?

Kind Regards,

Ibrahim

Hi Ibrahim,

If stock keeping unit (Base Unit of Measure) is different for the materials then material to material stock transfer is not possible.
