Hi Gurus,

i am confused about scheduling paremeters. where we can set the scheduling type as Lead time scheduling or Basic Date Scheduling. How sap knows this.

i understand that Basic date scheduling means system will consider only the Material Master dates. Lead time scheduling means system considers The Time in Routing. is this currect.

what about Floats in which Scheduling type system takes these floats. i have gone through some stuff and not able to get a clearity please help me to understand the production order scheduling.

Thanks&Regards,
Venkat.

Hi,

You choose type of scheduling whilst running MRP by transactions MD01, MD02, MD03 etc. There is the scheduling parameter in the selection options of these commands. It is the same when you schedule an MRP job in the background.

Floats related to lead time scheduling such as float before production in the scheduling margin key are useless in the case of basic dates scheduling. However the opening period will be used for calculating the opening date in both cases.

Hi Ozgen,

Thanks For the Reply, as you said we can select the scheduling type while running MRP.

My question is how system automatically desides the scheduling type in case of Manual Production order Creation.

Thanks&Regards,

Venkat.

Hi,

System always uses lead time scheduling in production orders.

Hi Ozgen,

is it standard behaviour of the system. why it will baheve like that ? if we want to use basic date scheduling in Manual orders what we have to do.

Thanks&regards,

Venkat.

Hi,

Yes, it is standart behaviour and you cannot schedule production orders using in-house production time.

If basic dates, calculated by lead time scheduling, does not suit your requirement, you can change the scheduling type to "Only capacity requirements" and assign basic dates manually.

Regards.

Hi Vivek,

Yes. It is a system design. Manual production order is lead time scheduled. It will take the scheduling margin key from material master. You can change those floats on order directly and can schedule again. Check the manual scheduling option in order. As well the scheduling type will be decided by cust setting on OPU3. Conclusion is any production order is lead time scheduled.

Hiu Krihsna,

Thanks for your reply, the scheduling type will be decided by cust setting on OPU3.

By which setting of opu3 Scheduling type will copied into production order.

Conclusion is any production order is lead time scheduled.

then what about BASIC Date scheduling in which scenario it will be useful.

Thanks&Regards,
Venkat.
