DesignStudio: failed to obtain SAP Assertion Ticket.....

Hi,

I've installed SAP BO BI 4.1 SP2 + DesignStudio AddOn. I configured STS and a OLAP Connection with SSO to the BW system. I also checked if the Security Token Service is selected in the APS service.

With WebI and Analysis OLAP I can use the connection a use Queries. But when I try to build a Design Studio app, when trying to insert a Data Source I recieve the Error "Failed to obtain the SAP Assertion Ticket...."

Any Ideas?

Please see SAP note 1894504 - Design Studio - Support Note for BIP Add-On, which looks like it was just released yesterday - looks like it may address the error you are experiencing.

Hi Tammy,

thanks for the note, but the mentioned notes within I already know.

The main problem is probably that we cannot follow the instruction for generating keystore and certificate exactly, as we have the requirement to use a certificate from a Global Trust Center.

For this we uses the keytool first to generate a cert request. The request was send to the global trust center, they approved it and send back a certificate. With this certificate and the keytool, we updated the keystore, which was then imported in the CMC.

WebI and CR4 and Analysis OLAP is working fine, but since Ingo mentioned that they do not use the Token Service, I do not know if the way we created the certificate was correct or possible.

We do not have the chance to use STS the general way.

Hi Thilo,

can you retrieve data from a Web Intelligence report using BICS, logging in to launchpad with an Enterprise Alias? I guess Webi should need STS in this case and you could check this way if STS is working correctly in general. Also worth checking with only one APS containing both services, Analysis App.S. and STS.

Thanks for the post. And reading it, I found my error. While Testing with WebI I did not logon with Enterprise. I logged on with SAP Auth..

Know I see the STS is not working correctly.
