IDT Local Project Display issue

Former Member

Hello All,

There is a problem with my Information Design Tool Platform. It is not displaying the local projects. It displays the folder but does not display the content underneath.

I have tried importing the project from the local machine but it does not seem to work. It gets the folder but no content is displayed below it

Although the surprising thing is that all the components are being displayed inside the folder. It just does not show inside the IDT Local Project tool space.

Anybody has a clue how to get it fixed. It was working fine for me before, until I got my IDT reinstalled. That’s is when it stopped displaying.

We are currently on information design tool Version: 14.0.4.v20120611-0738

Thanks,

Shweta

Resolution from the Note:

  1. Login to IDT (Information Designer Tool)
  2. In Local Project View, Click on View Menu ->Click on Customize View
  3. Pop occurs with Available Customization in Filters tab
  4. Uncheck the (Business Layers, Connection proxies, connection, Data Foundations)
  5. Click on OK

I am having a similar issue, can anyone give step by step instructions for the same.

I am not able to view the files under the project in idt. I tried refreshing and renaming.

Have you tried doubleclicking/refreshing? Sometimes it's just a graphic-issuce.

Another option the might help will be deleting/renaming the workspace of IDT.

Maybe there is not enough disk space left?

Hi Jens,

Thanks for your reply.

Tried refreshing- didn't work

Tried renaming -- didn't work

Disk Space is not an issue. have more than 100 GB available

Thanks

Hi Shweta,

Try moving the files into a subfolder called Customer 360, leave the .project file in the current Customer 360 folder.

e.g.

<User Dirs>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\Customer 360\.project

<User Dirs>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\Customer 360\Customer 360\<other project files e.g. .cns etc>

You might need to refresh the project in IDT or worse case reimport after doing this.

Hello James,

I Tried this

<User Dirs>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\Customer 360\.project

<User Dirs>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\Customer 3601\Customer 360\<other project files e.g. .cns etc>

Created a new folder Customer 3601 (as it will not allow me to have the 2 same name folders under workspace) and under that i kept the folder Customer 360 and then it had all other sub files etc

and then I tried reimporting Customer 360 present under Customer 3601. It did not work. Am i  missing something?

Thanks

Hi Shweta,

Looks like you are missing the C++ redistributable package. Check if you have the below one installed on your PC?

If not there then you would need that to be present on your PC before installing the client tools.

Un-install the existing client tools, install the C++ 2005 package and install your client tools again.

Upendra.

Hi,

Remove the Customer3601 folder and place the contents in Customer360 so that <User Dirs>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\Customer 360\   contains the following:

.project <File>

Customer360 <Folder>

Then within Customer360\Customer360 folder place the other project files e.g. .cns etc

Regards

James

Hi James, I tried this approach. Still does not show any object underneath. Only the folders show up.

Thanks
