Hi experts,
I would like to manage the email alert for technical monitoring.
Therefore I did in solman_setup->technical monitoring->step 2.3 Maintain Recipients.
But where can I now maintain, that email should just be sent in mode "peak-hours workmode".
Is there a general functionality to maintain this, or do I have to maintain this in every metric-template?
Because, in the metric-templates I can always read "use global settings".
But I can't find, where I can maintain the global settings.
In step 2.6. of solman_setup I can just maintain, if the monitoring is active or not, is it right?
So if I would switch this off, this means, that genearl monitoring is off.
Kind regards
Hello Roland,
thank you for the link.
But for me this means, that also no alert will be created, right?
But I want the alert, I only don't want, that an mail will be sent.
Kind regards

Hi Christian,
As far as I know to deactivate email notifications you would need to set this in the metric-template.
Go to all the active alerts and set the 'Auto-Notifications' to 'Use template settings'.
I know this is bit tedious to set for each concerned alerts; but as far as I know there is no mass maintenance feature yet.
If you maintain any settings at template level for non default work mode; then in alert level, for non default work modes you should set the 'Auto-notifications' to 'Use template settings' .
Afterwards make sure you 'Apply and Activate' for the Managed objects in question.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Roland
No, email will not be sent together with alert.
I've checked it now.
Because we are having an availability check which is executed every minute.
And I don't receive an mail every minute.
Kind regards

One last question (I hope lol)
What is the interval for an email?
Will it be sent for the same alert more often or just once a time?
Kind regards

Hi
Here in Tech Mon , interval is based on the data collection of a particular metric . Duing the particular data collection , if the monitored value reach/exceed the throshold values then , it will trigger an Alert .
You can refer the template for the data collection interval .
Select any template -Metric - Export mode - Data Collection .

Hi
You can maintain the global settings in
Goto Technical Administration workcenter -Notification Management - where you can maintain the notification details .
Or goto Solution Manager Configuration Workcenter - Technical Monitoring -2. Configure Infrastructure - default Settings -Notification - Manintain Global Recepients - Which will bring you to the Notification Management as well .

Bala
