Hi guys,

Since upgrading to Windows 10, I am unable to edit the Ao_user_roaming.config file. In the good old (Windows 7) days I would double click on the Ao_user_roaming.config file and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Applications would open and allow me to edit the file. Now when I do it Windows asks "How do you want to open this file?" and offers nothing suitable (except reliable old notepad).

I have installed Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2015 but this doesn't help (and I can't even find where to launch this application from!).

Any ideas or suggestions...?

Regards and thanks in advance,

Stephen

Which Visual Studio did you download? Community? Professional? Enterprise? https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads

Are you the Administrator for your Windows 10 machine, per this SAP KBA? https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2083067/E

Just open it in Notepad? When it is not enough, use Notepad++?

Thanks as ever Tammy, but the issue is not one of rights but of an application to edit the file.

To Tobias's point, yes I could use Notepad but found it easier to do so in Visual Studio and would like to find a suitable alternative that works in Windows 10...

Is it just me or does my first reply appear twice? I'm not sure what is going on..
