SAP where to train in India? Placement after training?

Former Member

HI! Everyone

I have just passed my MBA from a top business school in the UK. The MBA is a generic MBA and does not specialise in a specific area.

I am thinking of getting into SAP consulting as an MBA and SAP make a very lucrative  and decent combination.

Before my MBA i have worked in Sales and Marketing area: mainly Business to Business Sales, Field Sales, Account Management Sales.

If needed i am  prepared to take a small crash course in Software Engineering basics in India, from NIIT or Aptech etc, India.

( to gain basic and technical understanding).

Now my Main questions are:

  • Which would be a good Module for me to take in SAP?
  • Which are the best SAP training centres in India, where a job placement is offered after the course?
  • Which is good place to gain IT, Software Engineering, IT basics knowledge in India? where i could gain a placement and hand on experience?

Financing my study fees is a concern but not a problem, but  do need a reputed training centre and a job placement. Need as much possible hands on experience, on live projects etc.

Any information & help appreciated!

Thanks

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

Good to hear that you want to become part of this SAP world.

Answering to your questions..

  • Which would be a good Module for me to take in SAP?

Looking at your details, it seems that you have good experience on Sales. As suggested by other members, ERP Sales & Distribution could be handy for you.

Which are the best SAP training centres in India, where a job placement is offered after the course?

There are many SAP authorised training partners in india.. you may refer the below link to find the training partners and also ensure that you reach out them physically to understand the details of courses, infrastructure, instructors and placement etc.

https://training.sap.com/

Atos, Genovate, HCL etc. are the training partners and Atos is the largest training partner in India.

Which is good place to gain IT, Software Engineering, IT basics knowledge in India? where i could gain a placement and hand on experience?

No need to worry too much on that..you may learn all these as a part of training.

As far as knowledge on SAP is concerned, SAP SCN is the best place for you to explore on any SAP subjects. Try exploring these below spaces also.

Abhi even you went to sap certification apart from the training will not give the job placement are guarantee. When considering your domain experience ( i have worked in Sales and Marketing area: mainly Business to Business Sales, Field Sales, Account Management Sales. )

we have module for you    try to engage with the community as i mention .Sap training institutes expect some domain experience  before attending the training. Please read our mentor blogs

wait for our experts answers .

Just search in Google with the text "SAP partners for SAP training", you will get couple of names.  But I am not sure whether all those are reputed.  To name a few, you can rely on Siemens, ATOS etc, atleast to some extent.

Since you already have some domain experience in Marketing, it would be better you choose SD module.  Of course, it is not enough had you worked for couple of months in Marketing.  Atleast two years of domain experience is required.

There are small companies in India, who provide SAP training and get placements for you but you should be prepared to give an undertaking to work with them for couple of years.  On the other hand, if you get trained from any institute, the cost would be ranging from 1.5L to 2.00L but you have to search for suitable openings on your own.  At the time of joining, they will promise you to get placements but I heard from many guys that they are not doing so.

Dear Lakshmi

Thanks for your reply.

Upon your suggestion i did contact Atos, Genovate to ask them the course fee for SAP SD module. The fee they quoted me is 4 Lacs for a month, taught course.

Also is MBA + Sales experience 6-7 Years+ SAP SD module = A GOOD JOB?

  • Also are there plenty of Jobs in this domain/ field?

  • What's the average job package of people working in this field (both fresher & Starter)?

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Abhishek,

There are plenty of job opportunities available and more over you have domain experience of sales.

See it is like this.. you attend training and get certified, but no one can assure that you will get the job immediately.. Sometime it takes time.

Smarter way could be to have a job related to sales and learn SAP parallel to this and then move into SAP consulting job.

As far as salary is concerned, it depends on the company and what I have seen is for a fresher who have got certified gets  4-5.5L (Depends on the company, their requirements etc.,)
