Hi,
We have a couple of environments
One has physical server and cms metadata reflects name of this server.
The hardware team want to create a virtual server of same name and move the content from this physical server to the new virtual server.
Providing the new virtual server has the same name as the physical server, will this be ok?
Also another environment with exsiting virtal server - they plan to move thsi to another virtual serevr again of the same name.
Will this be O.K.
Understand would be problems if the server names were going to be different as the server names hled in the cms metadata but given that will be same names anyone see any potentail problems with this approach.
Thanks
Hi Philip,
Recently one of test Physical server has moved to Virtual Server. Didnt face any major issue.
Make sure that you have connectivity with the Reports DB sources,Win AD/Ldap Ports are opened for all the required services.
Note: we have maintained the same host name and same IP. CMS DB and Audit are in the same Server.
