Crystal Reports Error “Conversion from UTF8 to charset failed”

Hi

When running a crystal report from within the BI Launch Pad, I encounter following error: ”Conversion from UTF8 to charset failed : Encoding not loaded”

The report is built on a Oracle 11g UTF8-database.

I have tried the below steps. But it still not resolves the issue and other servers like crystal report server, web intelligence server and connection servers are getting failed when reboot the SIA server.

Add “C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64″ to the PATH environment variable on the SAP Business Objects Enterprise machine

Reboot the server.

Could you please help me to resolve this issue, where i have to actually add this path in the server.

Thanks,

Chinnu

Hi Chinnu ,

Please try the below steps:

Just ensure that your CR Designer has the same language and locale (you can change it in the options) than the server. If they are different, modify the CR in your client and and publish it in the BI Launchpad with the correct language/locale.

Make sure you have 32 bit Oracle client installed if the report are build in Crystal reports 2011 Designer and setup appropriate Path variables

Thanks,

Sneha

Moved to BI Platform forum.

The error suggests the font you are using is not available on the BI 4.0 Server.

I assume this report works on the PC where CR Designer is installed? If it doesn't work in CRD it's not going to work in BI 4.0
