Do I need the root user to install sap solution manager on redhat linux?
Hello Said,
Yes, you need. As described in the Installation Guide, when you run SWPM to perform an installation, it is required using root user. It is not correct using <sid>adm to run the tool.
Chapter "5.6 Running the Installer"
Procedure
1. Log on to the installation host as a user with root permissions
