Hello Said,

Yes, you need. As described in the Installation Guide, when you run SWPM to perform an installation, it is required using root user. It is not correct using <sid>adm to run the tool.

Chapter "5.6 Running the Installer"

Procedure
1. Log on to the installation host as a user with root permissions
