Dual stack dialog Instance installation

Hi

We have our BW system running on dual stack with one central instance and one dialog instance and running on NW 7.01. Now we have migrated the central instance to JVM environment ( JVM 4) and the requirement is to install new dialog instance. Can any body suggest please what is the sequence of installation, I am going to use the 7.01 master software. We need to switch the dialog instance to use JVM later, is it possible to have dialog instance up and running on JDK 1.4.2 while the central instance up and running with JVM ??

Thanks & Regards

Thanks Sriram

We may need to wait for JVM upgrade for few days. So I would like to know will the dialog instance be up and running on JDK ?

Thanks & Regards

Hi

Ya, in my environment we have migrated all the server from Windows 2003 to 2008 during that time all the instance are running on the normal JDK 1.4.2 after that switch to SAP JVM by using the switchtool.

Hello,

JVM is only running on  dual stack or standalone Java systems.

1./sapmnt/SID/exe is central file system or not?,  usually kernel directory was mounted to  all dialog instances

2.If there , no issues JVM distributed to all cluster nodes

3.you should have user SAPCPE commend , while performing kernel upgrade, please check the relevent note

4.Please chekc the envvironment variables path in dialoginstace , If the path mentined JVM version , then your system , was not using JDK

5.If the JDK path still exists , so your dialog instance still running on JDK

I hope, this info helpfull to you.
