Hi experts,
In the course of transferring data from legacy system to SAP system--
1) we create the Excel file in a format that sap Understands ?
2) We save that file in the sap Directory using "CG3Z".
3) then access the file using "RHALTD00" for batch input.
my questions-
1) Please correct me if i am wrong or Anything needs to be done in above process?
2) while creating the format file for 5 "Positions" , do we have functionality in SAP, that gives the file with all the "header descriptions" ready to put in sap's directory Or we have to give this Structure manually in legacy system? as below-
(Ideally it should be present in SAP, just data to be filled by the client)
Thanks
Hi Sharma,
its not clear to me that what data you going to transfer from legacy system to SAP system.
if you want to download the data from legacy system and upload it to the SAP then you can use LSMW or BDS and upload it.
OR
If you want to do the online data transfer from legacy to SAP then you can use RFC or PI ( if you have PI -process integration module)

Dinesh

Hi Dinesh,
I am preparing for The certification as of now,
I have got this method of transferring the data in "SCN community" through CG3Z & RHALTD00.
i don't know if there are other ways of doing that, and if this method is less efficient?
in my question - i am transferring 5 position's in Organisational plan to the SAP. what are the standard steps of doing that?
Thanks
Why your uploading this OM objects into directory Using t-code CG3Z? I'm sorry I don't understand your requirement and I never used T-code CG3Z for uploading purpose.
you have 5 position,s which you have in the legacy system and the same has to be created in SAP HCM system right? If this is your requirement, you can use tool LSMW (T-Code: LSMW) and do the recording for t-code PP03 where you can create the object ( in your case it's position). If your not familiar with LSMW then you can ask you ABAP er to create a BDC programme to upload object using T-Code PP03.
I'm sorry if this is not what your expected.
Regards,
Dinesh
so you mean, just clarify two more things-
1) RFC method is nothing but the Solution manager's functionality?
2) in T-code- LMSW when i created object named "position" configured with all the 14 steps.
does it have to be like-
when i executed the last bullet point- it was like this-
.
what should i select on this screen?
thanks
