Same item cat at IM and WM

Hello Experts,

I am facing item category issue.

We have maintained item category at company code level.

In which we have we have implemented Warehouse for one plant .

TO is not created against OBD via vl02n if we don't tick "relevant for picking" field in tode : OVLP.

Also if we tick "relevant for picking" filed we are not able to do PGI for ODB .

So now how to deal with this issue so that it will not impact both IM and WM process.

Regards,

OM

if the delivery is already created, then a customizing change will not have much affect to this delivery, the change affects data created after the change.

Can it be that you want do picking only in the plant where you have WM ? And no picking at all in the other plants?

You do not necessarily need WM to do picking, without WM it is just an entry of the qunatity into the picked quantity field in VL02N.

Hello jurgen,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

All i want to know is that if item.cat marked picking(relevant for picking) for warehouse managed Plant /storage location will impact for non warehoue managed plant/sloc ?

For example : item cat - xyz is maintained for Plant A (WM) and Plant B(Non-WM).

In OVLP - it is marked - relevant for picking.

Here i can created a delivery and do picking(TO creation) for Plant A.

But for Plant B i am unable to do PGI ,so here it s due to OVLP i am unable to do PGI or there is something other reason ?

Please help me on this how to go through for both plant A and Plant B.

Hi,

If a Plant/SLoc is assigned to a Warehouse number or if its WM managed, then you have to do picking via transfer order in WM and confirm it. You cannot just manually enter the picking quantity.

If a Plant/Sloc is not WM managed then you have to just manually enter the picking quantity while creating the delivery. Only after that system will allow to do the PGI for the delivery.

If a plant / Sloc is not picking relevant and you dont want to enter the picking quantity manually then you can manually change the item category during delivery creation or you should make necessary customization changes to determine an alternate Item category.

Thanks n Regards,

If you marked item cat. as relevant for picking, in your warehouse management relevant deliveries you will need to create a TO by using LT03, confirm it and then do a PGI.

In your non-WM delivery you will only need to enter the picked quantity manually.
E.g. you have field picked qty for your item 10, enter the quantity you have picked
and do the PGI. It must work.
Please post the main delivery screen before posting and getting the error on the previous
screenshot/message.
