Hello,
I notice on all marketing documents including Invoices & Cr. Notes that you can amend an entry in a UDF and update the document even though the accounting period is closed... makes sense since you are not altering the accounting entries.
However, when I try update/amend a UDF on a journal entry, SAP prevents me from doing so and gives an error message stating that the period is closed.
Is there anyway to update a UDF on a Journal Entry without opening the accounting period, updating the UDF on the journal and then re-closing the accounting period?
Regards,
Jon
Hi Jon,
It is not possible to update UDF value on journal entry when period is locked , you need to open posting period update values as rewuired and lock it again.
you can updae UDF values when period status is closing period.

Hi Jon,
Journal Entry tables are the pure financial records. There are strict rules in updating them. Even if they are UDF, it must compliance with the rule for accounting. A basic rule is: once the periods are closed, it will not allow any changes.
Thanks,
Gordon
