Show configurable areas does not let me proceed to create AET field :(

Dear All,

I want to create a field with AET tool.  After clicking on show configurable areas, i am clicking on work area on web ui screen but nothing is happening after that.  I have SAP_ALL authorization also.

Please tell me what is wrong?  Why am I unable to proceed further?

Hi Maddy,

To make it configurable click Personalize link in Header area. In Personalize settings select the check box Enable configuration mode.

If this enable configuration mode check box is not selected we are not able to make configurations.

Hi Prasanti, thank u for ur reply. That setting u suggested was already enabled.  Show Configurable Areas options are shown only after Enabling the configuration mode.

Hi Maddy

Could you please show a full screen dump of the view once you have gone into configuration mode and selected the view you wish to maintain.

Typically the field you need to activate AET should be visible at the top of the view.

Hi Arden,

Thank you for your response.

I am unable to upload any image in my reply now.  When I click on Insert Image to upload the screenshot, it is showing a black screen.  Thats why I am explaining you the steps i performed.

1. I have mentioned the package, prefix details in spro for AET.

2. I have checked the 'enabled configuration mode' in personalize settings in webui.  so that, the show configurable areas and configure page icons are shown in webui top right corner.

3. I clicked on show configurable areas, so that webui screen gets changed as shown above in my first original post. 

4. Now, i am double clicking on the webui screen to access the view configuration.  But nothing is happening.  No error messages are shown.  Why the view configuration page is not shown when I double click on configurable areas.

I have gone through the below link also.

Please help me.

I know you've indicated you have SAP_ALL but to be sure there is not some sort of authorisations issue I'd recommend running an Authorisation Trace using ST01 against your user name.

If you've followed all of the steps accordingly you should be able to use the Configuration Mode and the AET Functions

Hi

Just wanted to check If POP UP's enabled in your browser.

Sorry if it is not a valid to check .But when u click on webui after configurable areas it will show rest in POP Up.

I have run the Authorization trace using ST01 as per your suggestion.  I have gone through the below link also.

The result of the ST01 for my user id is not showing any errors.  (Nothing is show in red color).

I am not understanding what is wrong?  Why am i unable to see view configuration when i click on configurable areas in webui?

Please give me your valuable suggestions.

Hi Maddy

I'm not sure about other solutions but for CRM an Authorisation issue will not show as Red but instead light green.

Dark Green Indicates an authorisation issue.

Could you check again for me.

Hi Sivaram, thank you for your valid point.  I checked Internet Options->Privacy-Turn on pop-up blocker.  It is enabled.  But the issue remains same.

Hi Arden, thank you again for your quick replies and patience.  I think there is some problem in SCN today to upload the images.  It shows black screen which prevents me from uploading the screenshots.  Sorry.

The below link explains that the one which is responsible for warning message should be marked in red.  Thats why I told you that nothing is shown in red color.

The result of the transaction ST01 is displaying some records in green color.  Does it mean Authorization Issue?  I will talk to my basis team now.

can you disable pop up blocker and give a try once

Hi Maddy ,

First of all check system version (:P) .

There are some Configuration and personalization settings for AET along with an authorization role .

Please check following blog post for soem more details and connect with your system admin should you hav any authorization issue .

When I click on Show configurable areas, webui screen gets changed as shown in above screenshot. But when i click on the webui, nothing is happening.  Please help me.
