Hi,

I was following SAP_HANA_Cloud_Platform developer guide to create a simple XS application.

I have gone through all steps until "1.3.1.2.7. Create the JavaScript file". In this step, the guide asks activating the files in SAP HANA repository.

I got following error in HANA studio when activating...

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

I think the problem is related to the package. In the error message you can see that the package is defined as 'hello' while it should be 'your_id_trial.hanaxs.hello'.

I had the same issue and I solved it by recreating the project and putting it in the "right" directory.

I hope it'll solve the problem.

Hi again,

I'm now sure that was the problem. The latest issue I was having (and for which I was not sure if I gave you the right info) was that the application was not appearing in the cockpit right after activating the files. The problem is that I forgot to recreate the .xsapp file (which is empty).

Anyway in the 10 points defined by the "Creating an SAP HANA XS Application", you didn't do the 5° correctly. Check it.

Thanks Ciao,

Yes, you're right. I used wrong directory. Now, it is working.

BTW, XS application is running inside hana process? While java application is running outside java process?

I'd really love to answer you but I really can't. I'm as new as you. I'm learning and I've got the exact same issue you got and after some tests I found the source

Hi,

To avoid running problems with path of package , good practice is to start  package creation from Systems tab in hana studio.Use following path from systems menu:

Content--><accountname>--><schemaname>

I'd export the project and reimport it under another directory. In my case I just created a new project under the proper dir and I copied all the files over because I was not sure of what was the issue.

Hi in case anyone else has this error . When you are creating the XS project

1. Enter a project name hit next

2. Look at Repository Package and click browse

3. browse to your repository package in this case it would be accountIDtrial.hihanaxs.hello

you should be good to go then

Hi Onikosi,

This is the solution to your problem. the problem will be because of the path not defined properly. Create path similar to what is  defined in bold letters below and you will not get the error again

Create a Repository Workspace

Procedure

In the Repositories view, choose the Create Repository Workspace button.

If your SAP HANA system is not listed in the SAP HANA System list, choose the Add System button and add it to the list. If you have more than one SAP HANA system, make sure that the applicable system is selected under SAP HANA System.

Enter the workspace name myhanaxs. In this example, the workspace name is the same as the root package name.

In the Workspace Root field, browse to select the folder that will contain the workspace you create in this step. The tutorial uses C:\HANAXSws.

    Choose Finish.

The workspace now appears in the Repositories view. A folder has also been added to your local file system: C:\HANAXSws\myhanaxs. It will contain all your development files.

Create an XS Project

Procedure

In the Project Explorer view, choose Start of the navigation path File Next navigation step New Next navigation step  Project Next navigation step SAP HANA Next navigation step Application Development Next navigation step XS Project End of the navigation path and then choose Next.

Deselect the Share project in SAP repository checkbox.

Enter the project name. In this example, it is called hello.

Deselect the Use default location checkbox.

Browse to select the path C:\HANAXSws\myhanaxs\p1234567890trial\myhanaxs\hello.

Note that this path must match that specified in the previous section.

    Choose Finish.

Open the context menu of the hello folder and choose Start of the navigation path Team Next navigation step Share Project End of the navigation path.

Choose SAP HANA Repository and choose Next.

Under Repository Workspaces select the repository workspace you created in section 4 above.

    Choose Finish.
