Hi all,

In Excel, we can use color scales conditional formatting for cell values (See below.)

Can we do the same in WebI 4.0?

Hi ,

From the menu bar Analysis -> conditional -> new rule ..

You can create different rule (specify rule condition in it ) and for each rule you can give particular formatting option.

After selecting the column for which u need to apply the rule press FORMATTING Rules and check all the rules you need to apply .Hence you can achieve different color for different value (by assigning different rule )

Thanks for your response. Technically, there are no two numbers with identical color unless they are equal. If you do a conditional formatting for a range, then any number within the range will have the same color. This is not what I am looking for.

Let's consider revenue as an example: the higher the better. So, those revenue numbers will go from red to green if we have them sorted from the lowest to the highest. As a result, no two revenue numbers have the same color.

I have been trying different things for a while but no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, you can do that using Conditional Rule

Well, you could do that but imagine you have a crosstab table with 100+ different values, then it would be a nightmare to use conditional formatting for each individual one, unless we have a trick to treat them like we do in Excel.
