Check-In Checkout in Power Designer

Hello.

I am a newbie and have connected to repository. I wanted to just download the documents for reference purposes with no intent of making changes. I could not find any option except to Check OUT the document. Is there any other way to download document to local from repository except checking out.

Also, I have checked out two documents and now I believe I have to check in the document back to repository. Does that a create a version stamp with my credentials, which I want to avoid ?

Hi,

You have to check out the documents. Thats the only way to get a document from the repository.

Check out does not modify or remove any documents from the repository. It only gives you a "copy" of the document to you local file system. There is not need to check in this document again.

As long you are not checking out with a lock on the file, there is no need to check it in again.

If you want a newer version from repository just check it out again with option "Merge Document" NOT checked.
