Material stock not coming to quality stock

Hi,

My material is not going to quality stock. It is going to unrestricted stock instead of quality. I have done the following setting

1. Created new inspection type by copying inspection type 01 - Good receipt for purchase order

2. Assigned new inspectionm type to 01 origin

3. In material master i have tick post of inspection stock.

4. Also copied defacult value for new inspection type refering inspection type 01 - Good receipt for purchase order.

Please confirm why still the stock comes to unrestricted after doing GRN against PO

Hope, you are the only one who is touching the configuration.

Check the Goods receipt document about the stock type. Hope, not having any Quality info record for that vendor which is posting stock to unrestricted stock.

As it is a customized inspection type May be you have not flagged Preferred inspection type which is besides "Active ". in inspection setup of material master.

Amol,

Just to share. Preferred need to be set only when

• You have more than one inspection types activated for as single lot origin.
• Of all the activated inspection types, you need inspection lots of the variance other than 1.

If only one inspection type is active, Variance doesn't matter here, No need to set it for Preferred.

This is as per my best knowledge

Hi Nitin,

My understanding is somewhat different.

if Preffered insp is not flagged, system will always look for the Variant 01 inspection type in the same origin irrespective of number of inspection types of same origin assigned in an inspection setup.

Ok. You mean to say that even if one inspection type is activated (with variance other than 1), must be set for preferred to generate inspection lots? If it is only activated, no inspection lots would be generated ??

If that is so, I really need to run a test case because I haven't worked with customized inspection types for long.

Yes, Preferred Insp. must be set otherwise stock will be posted to Unrestricted.

You are correct Amol. I checked it.

I activated only Z01 (Variance 3) and made a GR. No inspection lot.

I set preferred along, I got the inspection lot.

Before I learnt this, I had wasted 1 hour of an Abaper and Senior QM guy in Debugging a customized report where Inspection lot data was not displayed.

And the reason was I had activated insp type without Preferred insp flagged.

check weather movement type is activated or not for dat & also check inspection is active for that.
