ESS/MSS Capacity Planning : Quick Sizer

Hi all,

Our client is planning for implementing SAP ESS/MSS so we are preparing for approximate hardware requirement for below load

Systems :-

1) We have EP portal 7.0

2) SAP ECC 6.0 ( SAP HR )

We will like to know respective hardware requirement for both EP and ERP.

Below details are provided by our client regarding calculating requirement, Kindly let me know if any other fields data is also required.

Users : 2500

Work days : 365

Time : 00:00 - 24:00  Peak Time : 12:00-14:00

Number of Concurrent users :

NW-EP-URL : 2500
NW-EP-INT : 2500

Think Time :- ( I am not sure about this field whether it should be small or large)

NW-EP-URL : 15 mins

NW-EP-INT : 15 mins

30 documents / day

Number of embedded and URL iview : 2   ( I am also not sure about this value. )

this is my first time using "Quick Sizer" tool.

Dear all,

Thanks for all your inputs.

Respective task has been completed by my customer himself.

Although as mentioned by Deepak for ESS/MSS you will require to use both.

1) SAP Netweaver -> Portal & KMC

2) ERP -> HCM

Think Time :- ( I am not sure about this field whether it should be small or large)
NW-EP-URL : 15 mins
NW-EP-INT : 15 mins

Think time is the time user takes before clicking a link. So it cannot be 15 mins. Keep it 60 secs or 120 secs max.

Number of embedded and URL iview : 2   ( I am also not sure about this value. )

This is the number of URL iViews you may plan to create or develop.

If you plan to use SAP standard scenarios from ESS/MSS, keep it minimal to 10 .

I will modify respective parameters and check again.

I have one more concern about ESS/MSS in quick sizer.

I am currently checking SAP Netweaver -> Portal & KMC , but I am not sure about my ERP hardware sizing. I searched earlier and I found for ESS/MSS , option to select must be

SAP ERP -> HCM

Can you kindly share light on this?

What option shall we prefer for respective output for ESS/MSS?

Hi Shravan,

For ESS/MSS you need to use SAP Netweaver -> Portal & KMC.

For payroll sizing you may use ERP -> HCM.
