Depreciation is charge up to 9 months is reverse it down in period 10

Hi,

Users had run successfully depreciation up to period 9 for one asset class (2131). But after some time user check in AS03>>Asset Value

system throws message (Message no. AU390:Values for Ordinary deprec. have changed in dep. area 01 in fiscal year 2013), in that depreciation

charge up to period 9 is reverse it down in period 10.

I have seen there is no any changes found in Asset Master record and this is happened only in certain assets only. Any idea on that.

Hi Tarak Nafade,

We also faced the same situation in testing client for few assets in my project.

We found that for few assets system is reversing all depreciation in 10 period. there are no asset master changes nor depreciation key changes.

Any how we ignored this because of it is only testing client.

Please let me know if you got any solution for this trouble.

Thanks & Regards

Hey Tarak,

Please check the change log for asset master record and see if any recent changes are made. Also is this happening for one asset or for all asset for that asset class?

Dear Rahul,

I have seen change log also but no any changes happens. And this is happen only for few assets in one asset class while other asset is working fine in that asset class.

Hi Tarak

I am sure without you doing some change, system cant change on its own

Either the dep key has been changed (Can you check if the dep Key is same??) OR someone has changed the underlying config of the Dep Key (Check your Dep Key in AFAMA  /AFAMS) to reflect 0% depreciation

Dear Ajay,

As we using SLM in AFAMS is showing 0% while in AFAMA multilevel showing 20%. And in change log of asset master not showing any changes happened.

Hi

You are confusing me...

How come 2 rates of depreciation Bro?? Which is your final rate of dep in Dep Key and what is the basis of dep - Useful life or % Based?

Better post a screenshot please

Hello,

Click on NO. reduct. in short year and check

and go to assignment of calculation methods and fill changeover% rate and shutdown- default value from company code and depreciation area.

and check..

Dear Ajay,

We are using SLM with 20% and dep is on % basis.

Hello Sir,

I am giving you two option.

1. Reserve all asset document including dep. and asset document and again pass all entry for your SAP system.

2. Change dep. % to go changeover% rate.. and select changerover after end of useful life. that's it..

I don't no your company process.. but these two option i m giving you.

Hi Tarak

It seems dep key has been changed to 0000 or Asset Shut down indicator has been turned ON, without which system cant reverse the depreciation

Dear Ajay,

Thanks for your reply but there is no any changes happen in Asset Master while same thing is showing in my testing sever also. Really don't know how system is behaving even after no single changes happen.

hi Tarak,

You may execute AFAR to recalculate depreciation. (first run in test mode, check the results for the same).

Thanks and Regards,

Rahul.
