How do I call a custom program from an iView?

Hello experts,

I am new to ESS portal content administration and I've been approached by our development team to find out how to call a custom ABAP program using an iView in ESS. The goal of the program is to display a custom annual benefits statement for the user in ESS when they click on the link in ESS. I have been able to create an iView and link in ESS, however when I click on the link, the program is not being triggered. I'm not sure what piece I'm missing or if there something that our developer is leaving out in their program. Does anyone have some additional details that outline how to do this? I'm not sure how the custom ABAP program is supposed to recognize who the ESS user is so it displays the correct statement information, so any tips there would be helpful as well.

Kind regards,

Garrett Meredith

    Hi,

What kind of program is it? WebDynpro ABAP, BSP, GUI transaction?

For each of these you have related iview type.
