Hi All,
I have a report having two sub reports.
In 1st sub report i have a line in report header and footer.
And in 2nd sub report i have a line in report header and footer.
So My 2 sub reports are coming one after other. In this case i am getting two lines one after other(one from sub report1 footer and other from sub report 2 header).
Now i need to suppress the line in 1st sub report when there is a 2nd sub report fallowed immediate after it.
Please suggest how to do.
hi Divya,
this discussion is a duplicate of several other discussions in the past few days. as per the forum rules please use only one discussion per question.
regarding your question, if you are still having issues with this after all of the other suggestions, you may wish to try using boxes and lines inside the main report in this particular case. if you delete them from the subreport and use lines and boxes on the main report you can avoid these gaps.
please see the attached report...extract the contents and change the .txt extension to .rpt. in this report there are no gaps between the boxes and lines.
1) note that in this case there is a Box that starts from the very top of the section that the subreport is in...this is very important to have it nudged up to the top of the section to avoid gaps.
2) if you right click on the box and choose Format, note that Extend to Bottom of Section When Printing is checked on.
3) Always Close Border is also checked. this ensures that if a subreport spans a page, that the box is closed at the bottom of the page.

Hi Jamie,
In this case i have 2 sub reports .As you suggested i kept borders in my main reports report footer a and report footer b where i kept my 2 sub reports. But i am getting two border one another one when my sub report2 falls immediately after sub report 1.In that case i need to hide one line.
Please suggest. This is the issue still I am facing even i tried too many solutions
you can use lines, boxes, subreport borders...using any of the suggestions before. you just have to work on aligning the objects manually. this is not easy and is frustrating especially if you're trying to do what you are and have the boxes or borders or lines all line up with no spaces and no gaps. having a spacer between the boxes is pretty easy...but getting the boxes or borders to line up will require a lot of trial and error. in your case you'll need to use lines as well as you have lines between the fields.
attached is yet another way of doing this...create a report footer c, and have one box that surrounds both subreports. subreport 1 has a line right after it.
Hi Divya,
Inside the subreport, have you added 'lines' on the header and footer or is it a 'box'?
Make sure there are no visible gaps between the subreport's bottom and the section's border line. Always use 'Fit Section' to make sure the subreport's bottom and the section's border are tightly held. There should also be no blank sections inside the Subreport.
Of course, this will Not resolve the issue, however this will make sure there are no gaps between the two subreports and you should see a thick line where the two subreports meet.

Hi Divya,
i add some suggestions to you please try something:
1. In report header first format the box that is right click on box -> Format box -> style : None then after
go to 1 sub report also format like this right click on subreport -> Format sub report ->Border tab -> Bottom:None..
2. In report footer follows same the above first point but small change i.e.
go to 2 sub report format like this right click on subreport -> Format sub report ->Border tab -> Top:None..
Adjust the sections as you like..
I hope the above information create some thoughts....
Thanks
Dhana
