Design Studio 1.2: Personalization

Dear colleagues,

is the functionality of personalization for end-users somehow provided in Design Studio? Meaning something like saved views, recent views or favorites? The end-users strongly ask for such functionality to save time in using the dashboard.

Furthermore is it possible to create a mousover on a button?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Best regards, Katharina

Katharina - personalization is listed in "Planned Innovations" - see the roadmap released last month at https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000390622012D.pdf

"Planned innovations" usually means the next release, subject to change.

On this:

"possible to create a mousover on a button?"

do you mean tool tips?

Hi Tammy,

thanks so far, then we are awaiting the next release!

Yes, I mean tool tip for a button.

On the mouseover, I can't get this to work; I've tried CSS and it is not working for me.  Perhaps others have some ideas

Hi Katharina,

on mouse over a button show tool tip:

The most basic, most common and standard solution is by using the title attribute.

Unfortunately, the button element created by Design Studio doesn't have a title attribute and there is no built in functionality (property, setting, scripting) that would allow you to add/specify the text for the title attribute of a button.

In general it is possible to add a title attribute by using javascript. To use your custom javascript code you would need to use the SDK/Extensions functionality of Design Studio.

Another solution without using the SDK and by using CSS and additional TEXT components (by default not visible, they hold the text that should be shown in the tool tip, they become visible using css when a user hovers over a specified element like another text or button) is described in this thread: Hover on text popup textbox

Regards,

David
