How to change the Cloud Provider ID in my CAL Account

I have created a new account in AWS because my current account was cancelled by me a few months ago. In my CAL account I'm trying to redirect the link to the new account, but I can not change the field of Cloud Provider Id in my CAL Account. I tried to delete the account and create a new one, but doesn't allow me to do that because one instance is active, when I'm tried to suspend or terminate that instance, is not doing anything. Does anybody has encounter this problem? Is the only solution to my problem to create a new CAL account as well?

Thanks for your Help:

Luis Lara.

I have manage to start the creation of the new account but after going to all the tabs I just got the message: "Unable to create new account, please contact the cloud administrator". I guess that I have to write a support ticket to SAP.

    • Hi Luis,

I guess the first problem that you are facing here is due to the fact, you cancelled/deactivated your AWS account but, did not delete the account in CAL before doing that. As a consequence, CAL can not make any connection to AWS resources to refresh the status of instances since your acces key might not be valid anymore (for the old account) - this could be the reason you are not able to suspend/terminate your active instances hence, not able to delete your existing account.

Is there a possibility to activate your old account ? then you could terminate the active instances adn delete your old account.

Are you creating your new AWS account inside CAL with a different user ? I'm not sure if you can create two AWS accounts with the same user.

Even if you are successful in creating a new account you woould still see the artifacts from the old deactivated account until you delete that account.

      Best Regards,
