sapstartsrv is not running:HTTP Connection refused error

Former Member

Hello,

I am installing HANA SP07 in a test environment on Vmware. It passed the hardware check anyways.

But I get the errors attached when it is in the stage "Creating system".

Any clue on what to check? Although I installed the SLSE for SAP 11 SP3 successfully... I am thinking there are some OS specific settings I need to do at SUSE Linux level. Any specifics to check?

In the guide here - http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Server_Installation_Guide_en.pdf especially page 14 and 15. I have installed Java which was the only error I got initially.

The error i get are detailed below:

sapstartsrv is not running: Net:HTTP: connect: connection refused

cannot start sapstartsrv

waiting for sapstartsrv failed: timeout reached (120)

Thanks

Check the host agent status by running saphostexec -status under /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/.

Also , check the log files dev_saphostexec and sapstartsrv.log under  /usr/sap/hostctrl/work.

I don't  know if it's useful?

Can you check - whether the user which is running installation is having enough rights over hostctrl folder ,

can you also try re installing host agent?

Hi,

   Please check the below points

     1) double check you r trying to install as a root user .

      2) please uninstall and install again hana DB one more time  .At that time check hostagent is uninstalled or not. If not please uninstall hostagent

--Thanks
