FI Document post workflow not triggering

Hello All,

I have searched all over scn. Didn't find a solution. hence posting it.

During fb01 "posting" for a certain document type, I need to go through single approval process to post it.

created a custom workflow, with triggering event as FIPP-Created. Configured everything in spro. configured my custom workflow in SWE2.

Problem is, workflow is not triggering during posting. it simply gets posted. workflow is triggering only during parking as FIPP created event is triggered that time.

One more doubt is, I went through WS10000051 standard workflow, but couldn't understand where the posting happens. didn't find any bapi or FMs to post the document.

Here are my questions : 1. How to trigger workflow during posting in fb01 without posting it for the particular document type?

2. How posting happens in WS10000051?

    Sriram,

your question 1: "posting in fb01 without posting..." Not sure what you mean. Do you mean document parking? Parking = preliminary posting.

Do you want to trigger the workflow when the document gets parked or when it gets posted? The standard workflow WS10000051 and the business object FIPP are for parked FI documents. Then yes, link the workflow to the event FIPP-CREATED.

Have you traced in SWEL if the FIPP-CREATED event is raised? Have you set up it being triggered?

Question 2: Posting takes place in step 122 Post parked document. Clear enough.

      Hello Arto,

When user clicks on POST(SAVE button) in FB01, it should first get parked, then go for approval, and then should be posted once it is approved.

    Hello Sriram,

in standard FB01, when the user clicks POST, the document gets posted, and becomes a standard FI document, with business object BKPF, not FIPP. If the user wants to park, he/she should use the park function (Document - Park).

Maybe it's possible to create parked documents even if the user chooses Post. Some BTE config and custom code, or enhancements. Haven't looked into this. However, I'm sure you don't want ALL documents posted in FB01 to become parked. You want that in some particular cases.

You may need to review the business requirements. I suggest you advise users to use the park function, and perhaps limit authorizations so that those users can only park, not post.
