Should I work on more in back end side or UI side ?

Hi Experts,

Have a confusion

I am working as an ABAP Consultant from last 3 years.

I do work on back end logic as well as UI Side part (Webdynpro Application,Portal design and SUP Application) in ABAP.

My question is that,

Everyone says that now ABAP is stable as beck end side for now,So I should try to work on UI side of JS, CSS, HTML for SAP new technologies ( Fiori , SUP, HANA )

Should I focused on UI or still with back end?

I am also having same case as you.. So what i am doing, i have started learning UI5 by own in extra time to keep myself update with some new technology. I will suggest you to do whatever you are doing and start learning some other new technology by own, so if some work came in that tech. you can adopt it easily.

Hi Chandra,

Thanks a lot for guide me.

Yes, I am also doing the same thing but I am learning SUP application.

Cause for other new technologies like (UI5, Fiori, Hana) at least we need to know the basic knowledge of CSS, JS, JQuery, HTML5, HTML and I have only knowledge of HTML.

Hi Prachi,

Interesting question I'm also working as ABAP developer or consultant but at the same time I make native mobile applications for Android with SAP as backend. Therefore I learn Java and Android on daily basis as well as other emerging SAP Mobile Platform technologies.

Nevertheless, I don't want to turn away from ABAP and core SAP technologies.

Best wishes
