Hi,
We are planning to upgrade out present PI (NW PI 7.11 ) to NW PI 7.4(I think NW 7.4 PO).
We are try to run MOPZ for the system we are all unable to find 7.4 , but we are see NW 7.3 SP10 .
I can see warning "
I am missing any step. Should I split ABAP and Java .
Is NW 7.4 single single stack system.
Please guide in right direction.

Couple of questions on migrating to PO:
1. Does Process Orchestration require further licensing from SAP (to run on HANA Db)? We are currently running PI 7.1 on Oracle in a dual-stack environment
2. Can you list a few benefits of migrating to PO that you have noticed on your migration project besides reducing TCO?
Thanks
Syed
Hi Thanks,
For the information.
We have upgraded our sandbox system to SAP NW 7.4 PI system. Now the customer want to have SAP PO. Is it possible to have PO now. i.e from SAP NW 7.4 to SAP NW 7.4 PO
Or i need to go back to NW 7.11 , split the dual stack and do the upgrade to PO system.
Can you please let em know.. (Bit urgent).

Hi,
Kiran please do not get confused with the terms. SAP PI over SAP Netweaver 7.4 is only called SAP PI/PO 7.4.
SAP Netweaver Process Integration 7.4 can have following-
1- Dual stack installation (People now are not going for it, there are numerous reasons for it)
2AEX installation (which is single stack "AS Java" installation)
2- SAP PO (AEX+BPM+BRM)--- choosing this has a again a numerous reason
Customer has made a right decision and you can make the wise decision too by upgrading to SAP PO 7.4. I will not list down the all the benefits here because it runs for pages.
I think you shouldn't go back to SAP PI 7.1 for doing the migration ( Process Integration is in the era of migrations )
But, you must be careful as you can't move everything directly. For eg- ccBPM, you have to create NWBPM fresh. If your project has B2B scenarios with third party add-on's you may reconsider it looking at SAP B2B Add-On.
Please be very very careful in analysis, it seems easy but it isn't. Migration is for good, not to increase complexity. If the migration leads to customization, Adapter Modules you may do some deep analysis to go for some other approach rather than straight migration. Trust me, in some cases doing few things fresh will be better than simply migrating them.
All the Best! Go for the migration if not today, tomorrow you will have to

Hi Kiran,
as stated by Robert there is no direct path to get from Double-Stack PI to Java-only Process Orchestration. Your only option is to install a PO in parallel and move all scenarios for example with thee provided migration tool (New Installation and phase out). It is not possible to create the PO out of your existing system via system copy or separation of ABAP and Java stack.
Best regards,
Florian
Hi Vikas,
We are planning a upgrade from 7.11 to NW 7.4. After reading the blog https://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-47645 and other upgrade guides, I need help on the following questions/scenarios to understand:
1) What is the correct path to upgrade from NW 7.11 to NW 7.4? Do we need to upgrade to NW 7.3 EHP1 as per the blog and then upgrade to NW 7.4. Is that what you had done for your customer?
2) How to advice the customer on NW PO versus NW 7.4 PI? what is the difference, if any?
3) If we upgrade from PI 7.11 to NW 7.4 single stack, will it cover all the functionality of NW 7.11 dual stack?
Thanks
Tony

Hi Kiran -
We are planning to upgrade out present PI (NW PI 7.11 ) to NW PI 7.4(I think NW 7.4 PO).
PO(PI+BRM+BPM) is available only in single stack and from PI to PO there is no direct upgrade.
But you can still upgrade your dual stack PI system.

Is NW 7.4 single single stack system.
No. It's available in dual stack too.
AFAIK, the upgrade is possible from 7.11 dual stack to 7.4 dual stack.
Having said that have a look at the below blog about SAP's direction
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-47645
If you had check the note it just ask you to run dual stack split on your machine before you upgrade.
Notes :
You have to run a dual-stack split on the source system before starting
the upgrade.

You can find further information on the above mentioned target releases in the following notes
2. SAP NetWeaver 7.4 (with additional SAP Business Suite Components installed): Note 1874939
3. SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (with additional SAP Business Suite Components installed): Note 1698276
4. SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (with additional SAP Business Suite Components installed): Note 1468349 (Suite7) and Note 1615463 (Suite7i2010)
Please guide in right direction.
May be you should follow the upgrade guide
