Experts,
I have a need to generate a daily report by capturing values from a non-sap application. What would be the best way to have the daily granularity in my cube? By having a DATE (user-defined) dimension and the TIME dimension. Or by only having the TIME dimension and leveraging it to have the daily granularity. If so how do I do that? I read a little in other posts about using LEVEL in TIME dimension and adding Measures for MTD, WTD etc. Can you please explain me with examples?
There is another need for me to compare the values for one day of the week to the same day of the prior week. Ex: Comparing actuals of Friday of this week to the actuals of Friday of last week. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Vamshi,
The decision of using 1 or 2 dimensions depends on lot of other things also.
What is the level of planning done? Is it at monthly level or daily level? How is the figures reported to the users? Do they see monthly or daily data?
I wouldnt suggest changing the granularity just for getting the data from another use. You can do this very well with 2 different dimensions.
Hope this helps.
