Hello,

what's happened if you launch directly in the browser the catalog URL: can you connect to the repository or do you have same problem?

Regards.

Laurent.

Hello Laurent,

I am able to access to the UI manager URL but not to the catalog.

If I enter the URL below the system show me the UI manager application but not the catalog.

http://<server><port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?user-name=Admin&password=&catalog=SRM_MDM_catalog&server=sf-srmj-sbx.afg.corp&uilanguage=EN

Hi Martin,

Please try after restarting the J2EE engine where the catalog is deployed.

Also, check the component info of the J2EE engine and check if the catalog is properly deployed.

Dear Sarath,

thanks for your answer. We tried to perform the steps that you mentioned without success. We still have the same issue.

Any other idea?

Martin

Hello Martin,

You said you tried and ended up unsuccessful.

Does that mean you were unable to do the said steps or

even after performing the steps mentioned above, the issue is not resolved??

If the situation is the first case then, please check with your J2EE administrator and make sure you deploy the components properly and try to launch the catalog after restarting the J2EE engine.

If the situation is the second, then, please try to launch the catalog with the URL as:

http://<server><port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?username=Admin&password=&catalog=SRM_MDM_catalog&server=sf-srmj-sbx.afg.corp&uilanguage=EN&datalanguage=EN&formatlanguage=EN&hook_url=debug

Then check if the catalog is opening. If the same is not opening and still you are shown the login page to the Configuration UI, please check the login credentials you have used, that is the username and password.

Now regarding the screenshot you have provided, I understand that you are using NWBC and you are in SRM 7.03. Please make sure you have deployed all the required NWBC support packages.

Please try to use Internet Explorer for testing.

Yes, you seem to have 2 issues:

1. The catalog is not launching as standalone.

2. On launching the catalog the HTML code of the page is shown instead of the actual page.

Dear Sarath,

thanks a lot for your email. I was entering a wrong URL to start the catalog standalone. Now it's working!!

But I'm still have the issue opening the catalog from the SC in  SRM. Do you think it could be related to the NWBC client?

Do you know where I can find some information to provide to the J2EE server administrator?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Martin,

I am having the same exact issue with when I use NWBC to access the catalog. How did you resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Hi Abdul,

Martin was using incorrect URL to launch the Catalog.

For your case you can first try to launch the Catalog independently in Web browser to verify if the Catalog application is working fine.

You can try to launch the following URL directly in browser to check if Catalog application is working or not:

http://<server><port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?username=<CATALOG_USER_NAME>&password=<CATALOG_PASSWORD>&catalog=SRM_MDM_catalog&server=<MDM_SERVER>&uilanguage=EN&datalanguage=EN&formatlanguage=EN&hook_url=debug

Hi Kunal,

Thank you for your quick reply.

I am able to open the MDM Catalog independently in a Web browser but when I try to access it from NWBC it's giving me an HTML short dump. I checked the URL in NWBC and it's not the same as the one configured in SRM.

I think I am missing a step where I need to re-direct NWBC to use the correct URL. Is there another place outside beside the MDM Configuration in SPRO where we need to specify the correct MDM URL?

Thanks,
Abdul

Hi Abdul,

Do you have :

1) Webdispatcher/Load Balancer?

2) What about your Inbound and Outbound handlers in SPRO settings? What value have you put for these parameters?

Thanks,

Kunal.

Hi Kunal,

What is the Webdispatcher/Load Balancer? and how do I access it? I am not familiar with it.

Also I am not sure what do you mean by "Inbound and Outbound handlers in SPRO settings"? I am assuming it's not the same thing as setting the external web services under Content Management.

Thanks,
Abdul

Hi Abdul,

You need to check the URL configured under the SPRO call structure for the catalog.

Check if the URL u used for launching the catalog directly in the browser is same as the one configured in the call structure. Also make sure the /SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM is in BLOCK or CAPITAL letters.

Also post the shortdump for further assistance in case the same persists.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Abdul,

Regarding Load balancer/Web Dispatcher, you will need to google it or check with your in house teams whether you are using them or not.

Regarding SPRO settings, yes, they external webservice configurations.

Go to ->SRM Server->Master Data->Content Management->Define External Webservices->Select webservice name and click on Standard call structure

Could you take a screenshot of it and let me know the settings and values you have maintained here? Especially, the BYPASS_INB_HANDLER and BYPASS_OUTB_HANDLER parameters.

These two parameters also need to be maintained before the HOOK_URL parameter.

Additionally, you can take an HTTP trace and check what is the URL that is being called while making the call to Catalog application. You can find the procedure to do this in SAP Note 1558903.

If the URL is incorrect, then you need to make changes accordingly in your Standard Call Structure.

If you are still not able to find the issue, then you can create an incident and assign it directly to my Name.

Best Regards,

Kunal.

Thank you Kunal! That was the problem:

"These two parameters also need to be maintained before the HOOK_URL parameter."

I was adding the parameters at the end!

Thank you,
