Are XI BPM and Solution Manager Process Definitions Shared?

Can the processes defined in BPM also be used in the Solution Manager? Or, do we need to recreate the processes in Solution Manager?

If shared, do they have to be developed with a specific application (ARIS?) and/or in a specific SAP module (BPM v. SM)?

Hi,

you can export BPMs from integration repository in the form of bpel4ws which is a standard language for

BPMs

this is the way how BPMs can be moved accross applications

Hi Scott,

One can import/export the BPEL4WS , however I found that one could not go straight from XI BPM to solution manager , instead XI BPM to ARIS and then from ARIS to solution manager business process.(still some config on SOLAR01).

In importing XI BPM into ARIS there are many errors and lots of the scenario is not represented properly (ARIS toolset 7.0) XI 3.0 SP16)

The problem is that in some ARIS is very business process specific without considering the technical landscape. XI BPM has a more technical focus(Receiver system , sender etc).
