SMP 3.0 and SMART Work Manager for Maximo

Hi,

The latest version of SMART Work Manager for Maximo that I have access to is 7.5.2, packaged with Agentry Server 6.0.22. We have also downloaded and used Agentry server/clients 6.0.38.4 to resolve some bugs.

Will SMART Work Manager for Maximo 7.5.2 run on SMP 3.0, or is there a new version of the work manager for Maximo to be released?

I have seen the road map for SMART Work Manager for SAP, but not the Maximo version, and it is unclear to me whether new versions of the packaged applications for Maximo will be released or if the latest version will work on the latest SMP 3.0 platform.

Any assistance in this area would be greatly appreciated.

As Steve mentioned, it will run on SMP 3.  However, you will need to make a few tweaks to the java classes to address the new directory structures of SMP 3.   The changes have to do with where the server looks for it's configuration files (Agentry.ini and JavaBE.ini) from within the Java classes.  I have only done some basic testing with it so far on SMP3 but so far everything is looking good.

Are you currently a ramp up customer for SMP 3?

We are not a ramp up customer for SMP 3.0. We had an inquiry about it.

Is SMP 3.0 only available for ramp up customers at this stage? If so, when is it  scheduled to be available for all customers?

Is there any advantage to using SMP 3.0 rather than the agentry server that is deliever with SMART Work Manager 7.5.2?

Regarding your question about availability of SMP 3.0: Yes, it is true that we are still in the ramp-up phase.

Once our customer and partners, which are participating in ramp-up, have finalized their projects, SMP 3.0 will become generally available. Since this is project dependent, it's not possible to commit to a specific date. describes the ramp-up process in his blog, and also explains the 'end of ramp-up'.
