Combination of two cost center hierarchies

Hello,

Is there any chance to combine two hierarchies for an infoobject ?

I have loaded two cost center hierachies (0COSTCENTER, from two different clients in ERP) and would like to combine these two into one "global" hierarchy.

We are currently running on BW 7.0

Kind regards

Hi,

You will reload the 2 hierarchy into a new hierarchy by using the exit method. The below link should help you to give an idea

Hello experts, I'm facing the same issue, but the link provided in this forum is broken. Can any of you have a different link? Thanks

Hi

Use the "insert subtree" function in the infopackage and add the 2nd hierarchy into the first when loading. Make sure the subtree node exists in your first hierarchy.

hope that helps

Hi Martin and thanks for your quick reply !

The problem is that I have two different infopackages , since it is loaded from two diffrent clients in ERP

Is there a workaround for that ?

Thanks

Hello Martin

Sorry to disturb you again but I think your proposal should be the way to solve my issues.

BUT I don’t get it to work

I’ve really tried different scenarios but I can’t find a solution.

Is it possible for you to send me an example of how you’ve managed to solve it?

I’m trying to merge Hierarchy 1 with Hierarchy 2 ( two existing hierarchies loaded from two different info packages) but neither Subtree insert nor update works

Any input would be very much appreciated

Thanks

what is the issue you expirience? Make sure hierarchy A has the node spaceholder included for what you want to insert the subtree from hierarchy B. Also rename the hierarchy to the same name the other one.

hope that helps

Martin,

To be very precise

Hierarchy 1 is called 6100OPEX (loaded from SAP ERP)

This hierachy has 5 node levels

Hierachy 2 is called 5000OPEX (6 node levels) (loaded from SAP ERP)

My aim is to combine this two to a "global" hierarchy where I can see all (sub)nodes in one

Is your proposal to complete the 6100OPEX hierarchy with the top level of 5000OPEX ?

How can I point to 6100OPEX when loading 5000OPEX  (in the infopackage using subtree function)?

Do I need to delete the current 5000OPEX as a separate hierarchy  ?

What do you mean by "rename the hierarchy to the same name the other one." ?

Still confused as you can see ...

Hello Martin,

I would really appreciate if you could make a last effort to add some more input to this discussion.

A concrete example, step by step, based on your own experience would be very useful.

Sorry for  "chasing" you but I really need to find a solution for this...

Kind regards

Bjorn
